What causes Gas Bubble Disease?
No one really knows. There are several theories, but so far no single answer has been found. Interestingly, though, there is a drug called acetazolamide that seems to cure it. This drug inhibits the carbonic anhydrase reaction in the body, so one assumption is that its related to that process. However, there are several other ways the drug could interact with the body and effect a cure as well.
